Lodging At Buffalo Butte Ranch
The Buffalo Butte Lodge: The Buffalo Butte Lodge was built in 2003, over 4,000 square ft., and with a 32 X 40 great room on the upper level and a walk-out basement that boasts its own game room. The open front of the great room offers a fantastic view of the Dakota prairie.
The Buffalo Butte Chalets: The Chalets are new in 2007 and built next door to the main lodge. The Chalets are built with the husband/wife, father/son or daughter hunt in mind. It's also the perfect setting for that one on one business hunt.
Rooms: The main lodge can sleep 20 guests with each bedroom having its own bathroom. The Chalets can accomodate 5 guests per Chalet.
Dining: Dining will be in the upper level of the lodge where the home cooked meals will be prepared.
Deck & Firepit: It also has a wrap around deck for you to sit and enjoy the beautiful South Dakota sunsets. Many guests will also enjoy sitting around and trading stories at our outside fire pit. We have a horseshoe pit that is new in 2008.
Entertainment: Flat screen Satellite TV, Pool Table, Bar, Poker, Horeshoe Pit, Shooting Range, Deck, Firepit.
Internet: We have high speed fiber optics piped into the lodge and a wireless router for you at both the main lodge and Chalets.
Availability: Our lodge is available during the off season of hunting. If you would like us to accomodate your group, please contact us and we will host your business retreat, vacation or special event.
Corporate Hunts, Retreats, Family Vacations, or Special Events: If a corporate hunt is what you are looking for a stay at the Buffalo Butte Ranch would be a great way to say you are appreciated to your special employees or clients.
Special Requests? Let us know of any special request, set up for seminars etc; and we would do all we can to accommodate your needs. Many of our hunters return year after year with a few groups going back as far as 10 and 13 years.
Scenery and Buttes: The lodge is built at the base of the Buffalo Butte which is rich in Native American history. The Native Americans believe that their birth place was the Buffalo Butte cave located at the top of the Butte and on our property. Legend also has it that a white buffalo cow and calf entered the cave and has yet to return. The white buffalo is very sacred to the Native American culture. This Indian folk lore of the Buffalo Butte's pre-date Lewis and Clark.
Property History: Within minutes hiking distance from the front door you can view the same unchanged grandeur that Lewis and Clark experienced two hundred years ago. On the side of the Buffalo Butte are two "name rocks" with names and dates that go back as early as 1808. The lodge contains many artifacts we have collected over the years from the farm ground surrounding the lodge.
