Ranch Location: The Springer's South Dakota pheasant hunting Buffalo Butte Ranch is located in the heart of this area known as the "Golden Triangle" for South Dakota pheasant hunting -- A prime pheasant hunting area between Gregory, Winner and Chamberlain and at the foot of the Buffalo Buttes. We have been farming since 1980 and have guided pheasant hunters each year since. We farm especially for the birds and our pheasant hunters.
Main Lodge and Facilities: To make your South Dakota pheasant hunting experience complete, we have a new South Dakota hunting lodge that was built in 2003 and is over 4,000 square ft. with a 32 X 40 great room on the upper level and a walk-out basement that boasts its own game room. The open front of the great room offers a fantastic view of the Dakota prairie.
The Chalets: New in 2007, we also offer new smaller exclusive chalets for the smaller pheasant hunting parties. Built with the husband/wife, father/son or daughter hunt in mind, the chalet is the perfect setting for a truly memorable hunt. Perfect for the one on one business meeting or setting as well.
The Hunting: But we know what you really come to South Dakota for, "The Hunt." Our Buffalo Butte pheasant hunts are in a variety of cover including milo, corn, sudan grass, cattails, tree belts and winding natural waterways and draws.
The Land: Much of the land west of the Missouri River is marginal farmland and is not planted fence line to fence line. Because of the natural terrain and conservation practices such as CRP and shelter belts, the native pheasants flourish. With over 6,000 acres to hunt you will have many lasting memories. We hear many comments on how well the fields are laid out. Add to this some of the most beautiful back drops and sunsets you will ever see. You will agree with many of our past pheasant hunting friends that Buffalo Butte Ranch is "the best kept secret" for pheasant hunting in South Dakota.
